I would attach a clear plastic extension to the sewer drain. Then with the grey and black tanks fully drained, close the black tank valve and open the grey tank valve, run the shower, and see if water comes out. If not, close the grey tank valve and open the black tank valve, run the shower, and see if water comes out. If water comes out with the black tank valve open and not the grey then the shower is plumbed to the black tank or grey tank discharge plumbed to same line as black tank discharge. A mistake by whoever plumbed the unit. In that case, I would have it replumbed correctly.
