don,t leave blk tank valve open.the poo will build up in the plastic line and you.ll have a real mess.

Just a little tip here ! Anytime you leave your rig for an extended period of time it would be wise to turn off your water at the faucet outside. If you develop any type of leak with your water on and you are away it could potentially flood your RV and do extensive damage. This is likely to occur if a water pipe freezes and burst the pipe. As soon as it thaws water will flow continuous until you return.

Especially the black tank indicator. All it takes is one small piece of toilet paper or other "solid" to stick to the sensor in the tank and it will give a misreading. So far after two years my gray water tank indicator is still fairly accurat. That is if I or when I check it.... usually I first notice the water in the bath tub like you just did and it reminds me it's time to empty the tanks.

I just didn't know!
I drained the greys, opened up the black didnt think it emptied
however indicator reads 1/3 which is has ever since I bought this thing...
each thing seems to be easy fixes so are just time and experience is the key! I think...thanks again I am grateful for this forum!

I am in a campground and leave my GW open and use water freely as it is included in my rent. I am hooked up to city fixtures

If you don't have full hookups (sewer) or if you have your GW gate closed (as you have mentioned), then you need to be more frugal with the amount of water you send down the shower and sink drains.

Your model of 5'er has an 87 gallon GW tank. It is hard to believe that you've filled it up in one day, since you said you had the GW gate opened yesterday. But if you take really long showers and put a lot of water down the sink, I suppose it is possible. (You've said the indicator lights register almost full or full).
