i have to ask.you didn't notice this when you did the walkthrough? i spent well over an hour doing my walkthrough and went over everything as well as firing up the heaters and running the fridge on all settings, running the slides and awnings, leak tests on the water and propane systems, the whole nine yards.
We had been in the unit twice - the second time a little more thoroughly. We agreed to purchase. Two weeks later after the dealer said everything was ready, we signed all the papers, then got the walk thru. That is when I first noticed just 2 slide switches. Since it was a new 5th, I assumed the dealer went thru all systems before delivery.
First of all, never assume the dealer did anything. Second of all, the system is working exactly as it was designed, so the dealer going through the systems isn't a valid point either way. Third of all, the slides all worked that way before you purchased and you should have made the decision BEFORE agreeing to buy.
That said, this sounds like a big nothing to me. If you like the floor plan, just learn how it operates and don't leave things behind the last slide. I don't see a problem with the design, I see a problem with the thought process behind inspecting the camper and buying it without understanding how it works and making sure it meets my needs...
