Slide out help.

Have a 2005 Jayco Eagle 305BHS with one slide. Anyone give me an idea on how to operate it manually? What sort of tool do I need? The under belly is enclosed but there is a cover plate where the actuator should be.

  • Mine is the same way, there is a shaft that sticks out of the frame with a 3/4 nut welded on it. Turning that nut moves the slide room. The crank handle for the stabilizer jacks fits it but it's impossible to turn it with that, so I carry a 1/2 inch drive ratchet and socket in my tool box just in case!
  • You might be able to look underneath the trailer and see where the motor is. There should be a tube or screw that extends to one side of the trailer, opposite of the slide.

Mine is behind the front set of stairs, only accessible when the stairs are out. I use the same tool to crank down the scissor jacks.

Same here with a prowler. There should be info in your manual.

BTW It takes quite a bit of effort to move a slide.
