Having the brand you have will help a bit. Have had Dometics in the past (didn't need adjustments made) that I understand can be adjusted. There is a fine line between being too tight (can cause up issues with the slide operation) or too loose (flaps way too much).
On our current rig we have Carefree that were installed at the factory. The large slide topper has flapped way too much and on one trip folded and bunched up when brought it (took six times exnteding and retracting to get it rolled on the spool). We had it at the dealer for some warranty work and was told Carefree states no adjustments should be done so they would lube it and see. Needless to say the dealer response didn't sit well but I played the game and will see. The last two trips it's worked fine and I think they did more than lube it.
