Well just back from the dealer that is doing the warranty repair stuff and dealing with the slide toppers. Low and behold, the slide toppers apparently have two different style roller arms. the ones that are on it are taller and create the topper roller to be equal or above the connection point at the side of the coach. they, the factory is sending new arms, a bit shorter and apparently stick out differently as to keep the roller down further than the other so it maintains a positive drainage of water form the side of the coach. we will see how it ends up and works out, i will update as i can.
