I created a PVC insert to slide under my slide topper that causes the water to run off. It is made from 1" PVC pipe with Tees along it about every 3'. At each Tee I created a small support also out of PVC. It goes the length of the slide topper and works great. I just have to remember when I am closing up to pull it out. It is not glued together so it is very easy to just take it apart and put in the basement for the next stop. Also, I only put it in when I know there is rain expected during my stay.
