Keeps debris and stuff off the slide.
Keeps the sun off the top of the slide and off the seal as well.
Why anyone would want the sun beating down on your seals and slides like that is a mystery to me. If the sun tears up the slide topper over the years, what do you think it would do to your slide and seal?
