heading to Myrtle beach from southern Ont. any tips as to route and or places to stay on the way and at destination?

google up Huntington Beach State Park and look that over. As an old pfart I like to stay out of the fast and tourist lane. it is just a tad south of Myrtle, huge camp sites, gated, et all.
