Snow, Ice, and slide outs?

Our brand new fifth wheel is sitting outside until I can cut some more of the loft out of the barn. It's just a little longer than our old tow behind. The problem is we have nasty weather coming our way. I had all the slides out as we've been showing her off and putting all our stuff away in the new trailer. Just to be safe I thought I should pull all the slides in tonight. They don't have the awnings on the slides like out old trailer did and I didn't know if they could be left out or not. I assume they leave them out at the dealership, but I didn't want to chance it on my baby. Did I do right? Or did I over react?

  • You got it right.

If not actually using the rig bring the slides in especially when bad weather is in the forecast.
  • I'd leave them in and only put them out when you need to. It only takes a minute to put them out. Why subject the seals and roofs to more wear and tear.
