now that you mention it, our awning was out the first day or so but the wind was making it rattle so we pulled it in. the awning covers the breakfast area which has 4 windows on it in itself. good idea!
Slideout covers will also help, the main ceiling may not be too warm, but check the slide out ceiling and you will find them to be very warm without covers.
