You need to take the front bracket loose from the slide, have someone hold the tube so it does't roll. Be very carefull when you take the bracket loose as the spring tension will want to turn it, then pull the spring out of the tube using the bracket. It will only come out a couple of inches, so no worries of pulling it out completly. Once the end of the spring is out of the tube an inch or two you'll be able to find the hole to pin it. Hope this helps. By the way there is only a spring on the right side, the other end is just an idler.
