Solid counters
Looking at a Jayco that has an option for solid kitchen counter tops. My question is, is it worth the $1,000+ cost and the small weight penalty? I can think of other options I'd rather have for that...

Not sure you will find it cheaper, but if you like solid surface counters and their potiential drawbacks, then go for it. After 10 years ours still looks good.
