The man doing the repairs has done rv repairs for more than 30 years. People I know and trust have used his services without complaint. We, fortunately, have never needed a repairman till now. On a positive note, the electric company has assumed responsibility per their telephone call and emailed letter to me. They took down our info while they were at our site trying to rectify the issues they had caused earlier in the day. I was surprised by their follow up call and email. I really thought it would be difficult to get them to pay for damages even though they had admitted on site that night to us what had happened and they had caused our issues. At this point, unless we have trouble with their insurance company, it is looking like we will only be out of pocket for a short time and then reimbursed for damages.
I fully intend to get the EMS system installed regardless of repairman opinion (even if he isn't the one to install). I bought the darn thing a year ago. DH looked at it but was uncomfortable installing himself. Unfortunately, we never got around to taking somewhere to have it done and are seriously regretting it now. While everyone else is out camping on the 4th, we are sitting in our sticks and bricks wondering "what to do?" This has definitely put a damper on our fun.
I'll post an update after repairs are done and let y'all know what the final verdict was with this repairman on the EMS. As I already stated, it WILL be installed even if I have to take somewhere else but I really believe he will do it and just didn't fully understand what I had bought.
Only one comment, if this dude has been in the RV repair business for 30 years and doesn't know what this device is, run, don't walk somewhere else.
