Hello, my wife and I have decided to live year round in a 5th wheel, having just moved to the San Diego area, renting is too expensive.
We have visited RV dealerships and have to yet to find an exact floor plan we like. I visited Recreation by design RV in Elkhart, i also visited DRV in Howe as well. DRV Suites are beautiful but way too expensive, Recreational appear to be half the price. I understand Recreational use a wood frame, DRV uses aluminum. Can anyone out there offer some advise? I'm leaning towards Recreational by Design.
Thanks,
Don
Since you asked. Here is my take on RV's. Some RVs are built for the occasional weekend trip to the lake. Others for full time living.
I think you would want an RV that is built for full time living. Condensation, insulation, tank sizes, pre wired for solar, frames and axles, and other issues found in a full time coach will make your life easier. Look at fifth wheels from Northwood especially the Arctic Fox models as they have a good reputation in the industry for being stout, large tanks, and well insulated. And they are not all that expensive.
