Space in the truck bed?
Hello all, We are planning on upgrading next year and we are contemplating a fiver. I really like having the full bed for storage though. I have 4 bikes that we bring everywhere and I am a bit shy...

Four bikes on a pin Box Rack can be done. I do have an 8'bed with no bike rack clearance issues. The rest of the bed can be used for tools coolers etc. The 5'er has lots of storage in the basement beneath bed space is not an issue.
I have found passenger space to be a much bigger issue.
We went from a large bunkhouse TT towed with a Ford Excursion. To a large bunkhouse 5'er towed with a crew cab. We have no issues with cargo. However the Excursion could easily haul 9 passengers while the crew cab is limited to 5. Passenger space has proven to be our nemesis not cargo space. We are forced to take a 2nd vehicle if any friends or family come along.
Not a big deal because we don't bring visitors often, however we might invite guest more often if we did not require a 2nd vehicle to transport them.
