I check my dually spare before leaving home for a camping trip.The 5ver spares are checked before each trip along with the truck tires and 5ver tires.
Due to past problems with st tires failing randomly I mounted both spares on top of the 5ver rear bumper with an aluminum rack I made for easier access.Both spares have tire covers and are positioned with the valve stems on the bottom facing out to add air when needed without having to take the covers off. Our 5ver now rides on XPS Ribs.
I will gladly lend a 235/80R/16 spare tire/wheel assembly or give a loose spare trailer tire (kept in the dually bed) to another camper in distress if needed. I keep a 6 gallon capacity pancake electric compressor and generator in the front compartment with 50 feet of air hose for tire problems... been there done that too many times. I'll help any camper who needs assistance changing tires on tv or camper.
