ST or LT tires?
Hi all... We have a 2012 Voltage 3795 that has already "lost" two of the factory tires. The first one developed a bulge on the sidewall - so we replaced it. The second just had tread seperation (wh...

When going from lets say a E to a G tire and the E was aired to 80 psi but you want a stronger tire the G would be the next one to go to, You will still run 80-85 on the G if that is what the load dictates per the inflation chart. Running 110# on the G will give you less traction and wear the center of the tires out. Running the G at 80-85 will not cause excessive heat if the load says to run 80-85.
Plus Sizing. That’s what it’s called when going to a LRG tire from a LRE tire of the same or larger size, even another design.
Industry standards dictate that the new tire must equal the load capacity of the OE tires described on the trailer’s labeling. So, if the OE was providing 3042# of load capacity, the new LRG tire needs to have it’s recommended tire pressure set to also provide that same amount of load capacity. The same holds true when replacing a LRE ST tire rated at 3420#. The recommended tire pressure for the LRG tire would need to be increased to an amount that will provide the necessary load capacity.
An auxiliary tire information placard needs to be attached adjacent to the trailer’s original tire placard describing the new tire size/load capacity and the new recommended tire pressure.
