Are those who pull 5th wheels and basically any camper exempt from state scales?

Pulled into one 'one time'..guy looked at me like a tree full of owls.
They are great for a quick weight........pull thru them when closed and get your set up weights free.
But NO..you do not have to go thru weigh scales unless commercial.
Don't confuse weigh scales with inspection sites....those you do have to go thru, just follow ALL the traffic
