Legally in Maryland, if you're over 5T GVW, you're required to stop. That means, with no trailer in tow- in my dually with a 12,300 GVWR I'm supposed to stop. I've swapped emails with the highway department and confirmed.
Practically, I'm sure they'd look at me like a red-headed elephant if I actually did stop.
