We will have 44 years this May. No better place than in a RV. Have visited 48 states of our beautiful free Country. I am73 and plan to take to take one mile at a time good Lord willing for any more years.
We have friends that are in their 80s still doing it!!!! And as I think, I realize I have 3 sets of friends in their 80s still traveling. Do what's best for YOU! If you can still hook up and drive SAFELY, then go for it. As for drivers that cause problems on the road -- usually they say "OLD drivers", I have taken a tally for the last 6 months. We've had or seen near accidents while on the road.....a total of 12......and only 1 was "caused" by an "old" person. The young people are LOONY when it comes to passing, etc.
Husband 97, me 71. Just returned from 9 day trip out. I do all the driving, hook up toad, connect/disconnect motorhome at cg. But, he is still able to travel.
I hope I can make it into my early 80's traveling. Places to go, roads to travel.
I have met at least 4 couples on the road at different campgrounds that were in there 80's they 1 couple we couldn't even keep up with on the bike trail however the guy looked like Jack Lalanne.so i think age don't matter it's how you feel!
Thanks to all of you who are still camping in your older youth years. Makes me feel like I can do it longer than I thought. I just turned 58. I am about to make some major changes in my life to be healthier and this gives me more incentive. Thanks, randy
DF and DM are 78 and 71. Last year they drove across the country to visit here. Took them from July to early Oct to stop and see the sites. This included a month here in Newfoundland touring with myself and DW.
