Not to start another huge tire discussion, but wondering whether to go back to Commercial TAs which I can buy locally, or it seems like some of the newer ST tires might be acceptable? I doubt that I could find the better ones locally though.
The GVWR of the fiver is 15000.
Any thoughts? What else should I be considering?
Thanks
The new redesigned on the BFG Commercial T/A2 seems to have fixed those issues that suddenly popped up in the '10-'12 era.
However as others I would be concerned that a LT235/85-16 E at 3042 lbs capacity is enough for your trailers load per tire.
If your trailer per tire load is under 3000 lbs the Bridgestone R250 commercial grade all steel ply carcass in the LT235/85-16 would be a better choice than a poly carcass tire.
If the trailer weight is 3000-3200 lbs per tire then the all steel ply carcass Sailun S637 ST235/80-16 load range G at 4080/110 psi pumped to 100 psi would be the safest.
Other 16" E at 3042 lbs capacity we use on trailers are the;
Cooper Discoverer HT3
Firestone Transforce HT
Goodyear Wrangler HT
Check out your trailers load per tire at a scale house.
