Frequently the issue with an F250 is the pin-weight, not the GVW. I've towed with an F250 (6.8L V10) in the weights you are talking about and it is possible.
Many (not all) model years the difference between an F250 and an F350 is one spring in the rear. That would be easy to cure in a good suspension shop.
Some model years they have the same rear spring, others they have different front systems. But there are actually few differences and none in the power-plant.
