This is a difficult question for us to answer as we’re all different and use our units in different ways. I would suggest you take the advice given above and try a couple of short trips. Use the suggestions above to load what you think you’ll need. Keep pencil and paper handy and write down what you find you need but didn’t have. Unload what you find you didn't use.
You may find your first instinct is to run to Camping World or Wal-Mart. Try and hold off if you’re working with limited funds to spend on your unit. Take your list to the Goodwill or other thrift store. Your money will go much farther and the folks can use the support.
If you shop around (and this is not unusual)you might find NEW coffee pots, toasters, plates & cups, kitchen canisters, space saver items for closets & baths, and many other items. Plus you’ll have the thrill of the hunt. We have a blend of new and new to us items.
We stock our unit with everything we need to live in it for an extended period of time. I use my unit for fun but think of it as emergency housing should the unthinkable happen. You might think of this as “storage” - whatever you need to live in the trailer. Think, whatever you would carry from your house to a hotel room in a suitcase is what you should load to hit the road. (This does assume you have the storage space.)
We have packed sheets & blankets (in plastic storage bags), septic hoses & gloves, water filter & hose, TV & satellite dish (I do use my home turner and have to load it from our bedroom), tools & spare parts that may be needed, and BBQ. We also have all house cleaning supplies and laundry supplies, games, all motorcycle jackets & equipment. Our kitchen includes ice marker, blender, coffee pot, toaster oven, and pots & pans.
The only other thing we load is clothes, food, drinks, pantry items, and meds. If these were left in the unit you might attack pest (Both human and otherwise).
Enjoy your new toy,
Hap
