Why do you assume maybe 15 different items are same? Expression 'surge protector' (for RVs) has little relationship to a same expression for homes. And is completely different from the expression that applies to a USB port.
He said you need a magic box. So that proves you need a magic box? Even a knot in a wire does surge protection. Do you really need that?
That need is not being cautious. It demonstrates how easily scams can be promoted.
