Suspension Air Bags?

I'm thinking of adding air bags to the rear suspension on my 06' Ram 2500 since I started pulling an 8300lb 5th wheel. Any recommendations on brands & gotchas as well as psi settings. Did it make a difference in handling, ride quality, or stance of vehicle? Right now its a little squat when pulling.
  • Do what ever it takes for a level tow vehicle. I added air bags to our dodge for a level tow and it was almost level. Just saw a 3500 Ram come in to day with the rear dragging and thought how easy it can be fixed.

  • I'm very happy with the Firestone air bags I have on my Dodge dually. Separate air valves and fill with an air bubble.
  • I put Firestones on my 2006 Dodge 2500. Took about 2 hours to install. No problems with ride. When I'm not towing I drop pressure to 5lbs
  • I added them to my 2010 Ram. I use 18 psi in them before I hitch the trailer. This about doubles when hitched. Ride and handling doesn't change, it just levels the truck a little bit. I run about 5 psi empty. I think it rides a little rougher when empty than it did before I installed them Don't know if I really need them. Pulling a 11,500# fifth wheel. Installed Firestone Ride Right. Very easy self install. Took about an hour without taking off the wheels or jacking it up.
