how much of a clearance does the tailgater satellite reguire to work...?

I mounted my Tailgater on the ladder with a bracket from King Control. I added a brace.
Most of the time I can get a signal without removing it. Sometimes I take it off and move it to another spot on the roof. Other times I have to take it to the ground to get a hole to the sky.
I've had no problems getting a signal from the ladder or the roof if the view is not obstructed.
