Yes it does. It lasted about 5000 miles last time around. Lots of back in sites too, so lots of turning. I used bathroom caulk because that is what I had on hand & seemed like a reasonable product to use.
Now, if you REALLY want a product that is NEVER going to let go, use a 3M product called 5200. Nasty stuff. Used in applications like holding boat deck molds onto hulls.
You will wear that teflon plate to nothing before the 5200 side lets go.
