It appears to be drier and less flexible than I think one of these things should be. The alternative is to simply grease the landing plate but I thought I might give this thing a try.
It'll probably work for a while, though it's probably brittle. Just don't bend it and it should be fine. They're cheap enough that you should just grab a new one when convenient and slap it on. For that matter, running dry for a couple days isn't likely to hurt anything, if both faces are clean to begin with.
