I live in Texas, and I can't imagine visiting this state during the summer. It is just to hot. We usually try to leave for at least a month, to Colorado or somewhere cool. Also, the sand dunes are an beautiful site, hope you are planning on seeing they at daybreak, again because the sand gets really hot.
