Thinking about adding a 2nd AC

Jayco Eagle HT 27.5RLTS - has the 15k whisper quiet unit. Yesterday it did well (89 degrees & real feel of 96.). Noticed that I was still sweating after an hour inside the unit. Dealer said 13.5k unit in bedroom would make a huge difference. Est. cost $1000-1100 since my unit is pre-wired & 50amp. Here in Eastern NC the humidity is so high and uncomfortable so I am thinking long term it would be worth it. Price quoted seems to be about what I was thinking.

Who has added one? Did it make a big difference?

  • Adding the 2nd AC was the best thing we ever did. Hardest part of the job is getting the unit on the roof.
  • We ordered ours with three units from the factory (living area, bedroom, and garage) and it makes a huge difference.
  • I added a second to ours. It was pre wired, and I bought a 13.5 on-line, had it installed by a local RV shop. All in buying and installing was just over $600 if I remember right. And it did make a difference. A side benefit, you can run only the bedroom AC if it's not too hot, and it is much quieter in the living area.

    I got a 13.5 Dometic Brisk Air2 w/ inside distributor for $539 shipped.
