"If I understand, it was your neighbor's tree, correct? Dealing with 2 insurance companies can be a right pain. My suggestion is to insist your company to make you right, quickly, and tell them to duke it out with the other company"
Things may differ in other parts of the country, when it comes to liability home owners insurance. In my experience, if the wind (act of God) blew my tree over onto my neighbors camper/house/property, my neighbors insurance would be responsible for damage, including tree removal, the part on neighbors property. OTOH, if I was cutting my tree down, and it fell on my neighbors camper, I (my insurance) would have to pay.
Don't you just love internet arm chair lawyers. :)
