- hone_eagleExplorerForest River is a 1.6 billion dollar company Thor is not even a tenth of that, but there are as many ways to measure a company as you can shake a stick at.
- justmeExplorerHmmm Thor claims "Thor is the sole owner of operating subsidiaries that, combined, represent the world’s largest manufacturer of recreational vehicles". Forest River makes no such claim while being a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway and Jayco is family owned and most likely focuses on innovation to compete against the big boys. Again, Thor is positioning itself to have a strong pricing advantage like most companies would like to do.
- hone_eagleExplorerNot a monopoly, they are only a tenth the size of Forest River.
Jayco must be very nervous though. - justmeExplorerI think pricing power for Thor has significantly increased. Can you say monopoly :-) Also, most board of directors are interested in growth and profit. Buying competitors is another way to meet growth targets.

DRV is a very solvent company. The only build a unit when it is ordered.
I am sitting at Rolling Retreats RV sales in Elk City, OK in the process of ordering a new MS or Elite Suites. The owner Alicia feels the sale will actually improve DRV.
Time will tell if I made a good move!
Welcome to the Heartland family....:)

I had been looking somewhat at DRV. I will not do that now, just simply scared if the quality will go down, but still look really nice. Hopefully it will still be a quality product. However; I will keep my interest on Lifestyle. The mother company seems to be quality. They have let Lifestyle continue to be a quality product just as Carriage. Just my thoughts. I've just been burned to many times with poor quality products.
You would have NEVER bought a DRV because of the Lippert frame! Who you trying to kid :S - Mile_HighExplorer
