My Hitchhiker II is 3 years newer than yours (purchased new in 2007). I feel it's a good quality unit. It tows well and has a solid feel to it all around. I've only had minor problems with mine, such as plastic faucet handles on the sinks that break easily. Of course, residential style faucets can be installed which will eliminate that problem. There's also a minor "problem" with some of the contact paper on the trim coming loose but that's also easily addressed. Mine has a Lippert frame but so far it hasn't collapsed on me. ;)
