I had a tire blow out on my fiver while traveling I-40 in N. Carolina. As you stated, it made quite a bang. In my case I was very fortunate that my exit was only a short distance away, allowing me to continue to slowly travel to the camp ground where I had road service change the tire. There was no damage either to the RV or wheel. After I left the campground I had the remaining tires changed at a nearby facility before continuing cross country although the tires appeared to be in good shape. I was considering that they were the original tires and thought I'd go ahead and replace them.
