I agree that it would have been a "goodwill" gesture on their part to have warrantied the tire.
However, had it been me, knowing the warranty clearly states the tire is only covered on the the original vehicle, I would have simply replaced the tire on my own nickel, and moved on. I'm not one who believes that manufacturers should be held accountable to go beyond a stated warranty. As a consumer, we read all that beforehand, it's an agreement between us and them.
And to be fair to you, your posts are coming across clearly as meant to be "informative", and you are not sounding as though you are whining about the whole episode.
