I've been using the TST system. I never thought I needed one as I've never had a problem (until yesterday). I had just come off Monarch Pass on the west side when I got the alarm and it showed my right rear tire was at 65 lbs and rapidly deflating. I found a wide pull off about a mile down the road before my air was down to 35 psi. Yep, my China bomb tire had lost part of it's tread and the tire was trash. I got the tire changed and I was on my way - no damage. I'm sold on them now. Good luck in your selection, there are many good ones out there.
Had a similar experience with our TST model 510 system a few years ago. When all my sensors were destroyed in a house fire, I took the opportunity to switch to the TST 507 model and for the trailer added flow-thru in-wheel sensors with a stated 7 year battery life.
