Tire update ST 235/80R16 Powerking Towmax STR tires

Hello Everyone,

A while back I put a post up here about an issue I had with my Powerking Towmax tires. I had a blowout on a two year old tire that did some damage on my trailer this past summer(August 1)

Long story short, I called the warranty division of the company and explained the problem. The offered to ship at no charge to me, the defective tire back to them for inspection. I told them I was very concerned for my safety with these tires and they agreed to take all four back for inspection. I ended up getting an offer of $500 if I signed a waiver of liability.

I replaced the tires with Michelin LT tires. The same that is on my 2011 Silverado.

Just wanted to pass along what ended up happening with my issue. I think that I am pleased with the outcome.

I think this is the link to the original thread. Although I am not sure I am doing this properly to work for everyone.

  • Mine are Carlisle and that same size. I plan on changing to LTs when they are well under 4 yrs old. The LTs will be close to their max rating so I might haul off and pop for Michelins or Transforce. Craig

Great upgrade choice. One that others many years (even before the net) before you have enjoyed.
Keep them pumped to the max on the road and especially in winter storage for best long term reliability.
  • Very wise choice Ryan in the face of the fear mongering that goes on every day when someone questions the ST marketing hype.
You can now tow with confidence in that you won't find yourself sitting at the side of the road looking at a damaged travel after a CBD went off

Yaaah I remember your last post. I had the same tires on my fiver.

Ypost pushed me past the hinky limit and I am now running Transforce feet.
