Agree, but if one actually KNEW the GVW of the unit has enquired about, and knew OEM tires, than question could have already been answered......We don't know any of this as of now....

Numbers from the scale are great to know to help with tongue or pin weight, weight of the unit being towed as well as combined weight, but it would still be nice to know axle weight ratings so one could make sure they've put the correct tires on the 5er, which can REALLY be important when unit is loaded and traveling down the road at 60+ mph..

If you figure out your 5er's GVW and what OEM tires it had on it, maybe we could be of more help to you than we were this time....Just needed a few more specifics before we could give you a factual answer to your question...

I too want to apologize for the amount of post I have, though I have no clue what this has to do with the OP's question about tires for his 5th wheel...


I still recommend Michelin XPS RIPS IF he has 6,000# rated axles....but at this point, we don't know his 5er's GVW, nor do we know what OEM tires he had on it to begin with...

.....oh, sorry for this post, but was actually trying to help the OP's, as were more than several of us in here.....if MOD want's to remove this post, you're more than welcome to so that I don't pick up another one...

Thanks and Merry Christmas to you also. JFYI I might be wrong, and I'm sure the Mod's would respond, but out of my 8k ( I'll take your word for it ) I bet 99% were within forum rules. Yeah I can do better I suppose.

I'm clueless on this one now I guess, from first post, I too was under the impression OP had E rated tires and 6,000# rated axles, thus the reason I recommended Michelin XPS RIBS...Now I'm understanding, possibly, that his axle ratings are even more than my 7,000# rated axles which I have GY G614's mounted on. My 5er has a GVW of 16,950#.


To the OP, what is the GVW of your 5er? Has to be a placard on the unit somewhere, should also be one stating OEM tires used....either outside or on inside....Have you looked to see if this information is posted somewhere on your 5er? It would really help us answer some of your most pertinent questions.
