Tread depth is irrelevant as tire wear rate is far more important along with the fact you will never wear them out within the time they naturally expire.
I had some tires on my 98 RAM when I bought.  They were from Good Ol Les Schwab they were WildCats.  Those tires were shot in a very short time even tho they a lot of tread.
