I did some searching and have read a lot of very bad stories about Carlisle and do not want to go there. It seems like the Maaxis have a better track record but I am still a bit reluctant.
And well as you should be. Take heed from folks with many years of actual trailering experience of using what some tire store chain pushes and didn't work out. If you want a cheap low quality tire for a trailer then Discount Tire has one of the cheapest ST to sell. Been there and done it many years ago.
LT tires that have been recommended from there dealers/mfg are the all steel carcass commercial grade Bridgestone R250 and the Michelin XPS Ribs These tires are at the top for any trailer that sees lots of miles and years of zero issue service.
Next down in price is the old time favorite of many commercial haulers are the Firestone Transforce and BFG Commercials and its sister tire the Uniroyal HD-H.
Cooper pushes there SRM II LT tires for heavy trailers and are very popular with the rodeo and stock hauling crowd.
Goodyear Wrangler HT has been a old favorite for trailer users since the '90s era when they came OEM on some RV and other trailer types.
Maxxis has a commercial grade LT U-168 Bravo that is popular on a couple of other RV websites and especially with the big boat trailering crowd with 16" E tire requirements.
These can give you more options for something in your area. Most of these tires are sold nation wide and not just by any one tire chain.
