Tires just one more time

I've had tires do that on my equipment trailers that saw lots of road miles. More to do with either a tread belt separation in that area of the tire or that brake on that wheel may have locked in certain road conditions or surfaces causing a flat spot on one side or the other...or across the tread.

Put the GY Endurance tires on yesterday and today. Three of the old tires looked really good. One tire had a totally bald spot on the inside of the tread. The bald spot was about 6" long and 2" wide. Is that an out of balance situation?

Michelin defenders on my truck. Goodyear endurance on my fiver. Nothing else will do.

Thanks for letting us know! So often we never hear back from the OP.

After considering everyone's opinion, I decided to go with the Goodyear Endurance tires. They sound like good tires and there will be no issue with clearance. Thanks for your help.

The newer gen ST tires now have a flatter sidewall profile which will help in less sidewall cuts and bruising. Ideal sidewall shape will look like the tires on a semi trailer.....very flat vertically.

Good idea for 16" load range E tires in your size. However if you have to go with a load G tire then we have several made in asian countries that beat the pants of any of American G tires from a reliability factor. 16" commercial grade all steel carcass Sailun S637 is tops.
And there are lots of excellent P and LT tires made in china. Its been ST C/D and E tires that has given so many trailer owners (rv and non rv) bad issues and terrible service.

That explains the success we've had with our Towmaxx G tires. According to the tire shop, they said they are considered quality tires. So far so good.
