Torque for Hitch Rails

The truck I purchased to pull my fiver came with hitch rails already installed in the bed. I plan to remove them to get my bed Line-Xed. I do not know what the torque settings should be on the nuts when I re- install the rails. Any suggestions?

  • My Husky hitch and reese base/rail instructions - 65 ft lbs for 9/16" and 3/8" nuts, 75 ft lbs for 1/2" nuts and 150 ft-lbs for 5/8" nuts

I have a husky hitch and a reese custom base and rail kit in my 2011 Chevy.

The frame bracket bolt nuts were torqued to 150 ft lbs. The rail carriage bolt nuts were torqued to 75 ft lbs.

You may want to use new bolts and nuts for the rails. With the reese kit - All bolts and nuts are Grade 5.
