Torque TQ 270 HG - what are your thoughts?

I just saw this new model of Torque from Heartland called the TQ 270 HG and it looks promising. However, I'm so new to RVing that its hard to see where the trade-offs are. We're considering upgrading from our Laredo and this "Hidden Garage" concept seems to be the best of both worlds - a toyhauler thats only 30' long with a roomy living area.

So whatcha think? Thanks.
  • Yes, I can see how the weights vs tires could be an issue. I saw a Mountain Aire 5er that had dually axles on it - maybe that could help this one.

The pictures and videos don't show it very well so I'd have to see it in person before considering it but it does have possibilities.
  • Looks like the entire trailer is at the normal bedroom height on a 5er. It *should have considerable storage underneath, as the entire trailer other then the garage *should have a basement. I assume the garage height in bedroom mode is going to be 2 feet or less, the normal basement height, less what the bedroom lift needs.
  • I have looked at these online for a while, finally saw pics of real ones. Intersting concept for sure, depending on what you have in the garage. you might or might not have to remove toys prior to using bedroom.
  • It seems like a nice concept to keep the length & weight down over a traditional TH. Am I to assume that you have to unload the garage to go to bed? Might be a problem when on the road & just stopping for the night. If I've misinterpreted this, my apologies.
