RV websites are a great source of amusing opinions/silly comments about trucking issues even where tow dollies are concerned.
We think nothing of the trucking industry using several types of tow dollies to make up a A train/etc on our highways.
The first dolly I saw was 40+ years ago and was behind a '70s one ton Suburban pulling a 33'-35' GN LEQ horse trailer. Very popular combo around horse race tracks and horse shows.
This particular tow dolly had 16" truck tires on a 6k rated axle/brakes. With three 6k axle on the trailer plus the dolly gave him 24000 lb of trailer braking performance...... not counting the burb.
This particular owner says his biggest like was no waggin' the dog issues in any situation.
