Tow Vehicle

PS I forgot to mention 2011 or newer 2500HD Chev.

I would like to play devil's advocate for a minute. I'm speaking Chevy now. A 3500 srw with 18 inch tires. The 3500 dually comes with 17 inch tires. The 18 inch tires has a load range 400 lbs each more than the 17 inch. If you lost one of the duals unnoticed you now have one drastically overloaded 17 inch tire. The next thing is for slippery roads the lbs per square inch on the rear axle with the srw is much greater than duals.
We have a dealer in London ON. selling Mobile suites who advertises bring your truck hook on and see how things look . If it looks good take for a test ride.
I have a 15,000 Montana on a 2500 HD Chev and it sits perfectly level with no air bags and no helper springs, just a stock truck. I have seen numerous dually trucks with headlights shinning in the trees.
The truck weighs 8000 lbs and the trailer 15000lbs and that is 53% of the weight of the trailer. Only the RV industry could sell that picture and some profess we need more truck. Just something to think about.

Agree with what you said but where the Dually comes into play is when you get hit with a side wind going down a 6% grade on a corner or a panic lane change and so on.

Tow once with a Dually and you won't go back to a single rear wheeled truck.

What do the tow specs tell you? If you dont have the specs then get them from the manufacturer. You are legally liable for having an adequate tow vehicle, dont rely on personal opinions, get the facts.

I have a 2007.5 2500 HD (With a 52 gal. fuel tank) etc. and mine tows my 14,100 lbs. (scaled) 5ver just fine. I avg. 11.9 on a 8,000 mile trip.

Go for it and have fun...... I do.

Even if its a SRW 3500 it will do fine. Some will say you have to have dual wheels. But our SRW Chevy does a great job with our 16,000 lb camper. Pulling and stopping is not an issue. It will hold the speed I start with coming down a 6% grade 5 miles long with just the Allison doing its job.

Does OP have a Dually or a SRW truck, I didn't see where it stated which it was.
