Now if your boat trailer has brakes you need a controller in the truck that can handle 3-4-5 axles which ever the case (rv trailer + boat trailer).
Very few boat trailers run electric brakes (although they do have some advantages). The vast majority are surge brakes. No need to do anything different here. And if you have a newer truck, most will run an additional 1 or 2 electric brake axles anyway.
