I agree that it matters nothing what others think. The thing I see as a shame is that there is little difference in price going from a 3/4 ton HD truck to a 1 ton SRW so why bother with the 3/4 ton. The other thing that people find surprising is that in many cases a dually is cheaper than a SRW. In the case of the new Ford, the 20" wheel option is more costly than is the dually package. So to think you are saving money by purchasing a less capable truck might be the result of lack of information. There are reasons to buy a 1 ton SRW over a dually but saving money on the purchase price is hardly a good one. I know of no good reason to purchase a 3/4 ton HD over a 1 ton SRW.
