This is why when we purchased a new 5th wheel in May of 2016 we shopped low pin weight which ruled out many trailers, like all but the shortest Montana. We found the the Cedar Creek and Big Horn both had models in the 36-39+ range with dry pin weights below 2500 pounds and purchased a Big Horn 3575el with dry pin weight of 2435 and 16K GVWR, and it 39'4" long. We lived full time in this for a year and a half and made two round trip to Arizona at 24,500 combined. I was within all number with exception for being 40 pounds over the trucks 11,700 GVWR. HOWEVER the truck was tagged in Washington State for 12K.
