For those of you who have transitioned from a motorhome over to a fifth-wheel, how do you feel it compares when you're traveling on those blustery days? We recently sold our 31' Class C and now have a 43' 5vr toy hauler, and while I've only put about 2,000 miles on it so far, I'm still terribly uncomfortable when it's windy outside. I fully understand that it's a much larger unit and the math says it's going to get pushed around more simply due to surface area, but do 5vr's tend to travel better in windy conditions versus a motorhome?
Yes, compared to a MH that's 12' shorter than your FW (and likely taller), you're going to get pushed around a bit more. I =hope= you're towing with a dually, as that will greatly help stability. Also, how much water do you carry when towing? Having a full tank will lower your CG and make you more stable.
